MSIP is a great idea

The addition of MSIP's to our timetable has had great results.  An MSIP (Multi-Subject Instructional Period) is almost likea spare: you can sign out of the MSIP room to go to the library to study, to find informaiton, to read, or to take out a book.  You can also sign out to one of the shops to work on your car, to do extra welding, or to work on a carpentry project.  You may want to practice in the music room, catch up on an experiment in the science lab, or brose the Internet in a computer lab to find up-to-date information for a project.  In addition to all these choices, having a MSIP also encourages good working habits because it's always quiet in the MSIP room so you can get your work done.  Furthermore, MSIP lets you take time and think about your answers instead of rushing through the work just to say that you got it done.  Most importantly, however, MSIP periods increased the flexibility in the timetable: with a five period day, more students could get the classes they requested.  Obviously, having he MSIP has many advantages.
